As Jeff Daniel’s explained in “The Newsroom”, America is not the greatest country in the world. At this time we don’t even crack the top 20 overall. It’s doubtful that we ever were the greatest.

The reason Americans believe this is due to selective teaching. You are told we’re the best at freedom. Freedom of what? Name something we are free in.

Even our government is so flawed we are considered a flawed democracy. Politicians are allowed to lie to their constituents with no repercussions. There are sitting congressional members who have committed fraud against their constituents. There are members accused of molestation. Others seem to only want to inflame their fan base against their opponents.

Remember that just because you weren’t taught something doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. The Tulsa massacre and Stonewall riot did happen. However, you likely never heard of either event. I didn’t until about 15 years ago. These are examples of institutionalized racism.

It’s our job to work to make the US better. If we don’t demand it of each other and our government, it will not get better.
