When you take the profit motive out of our good health, the price drops.

Our healthcare costs so much because lots of greedy people are getting very rich. The fact that people are dying to make them wealthy is irrelevant to them. It’s immoral and a crime against humanity.

We spend approximately 10 times what every nation with universal healthcare does. Except we have a DECLINING life expectancy, while the other 36 nations have increasing life expectancy.

There is no question about the math. I’m paying $12,000 a year on insurance premiums. My deductible in $5000. That means I have to spend $17,000 each year BEFORE my insurance pays one dime one my healthcare. I was in the hospital last year for five days. I have that $5000 bill sitting on my desk. So now it’s impacting me this year as well. Not to mention I’m not yet eligible for Medicare.

Meanwhile, hospitals have to make up for people that can’t pay their doctors bills, so everything goes up. Single payer would guarantee those supply’s get paid for, but since so many people choose food and shelter over paying their doctors bills, their charge $200 or more for a bag of water they pay 50 cents for.

If you believe healthcare costs would not go down, you simply have not been paying attention.

Stop listening to the politicians and ask a doctor. Or an accountant. Every health care professional I know says that universal healthcare/single payer would let everyone keep more of their own money.

Then, when you realize the vast amount of money we produce in this nation, compared to any other country, it’s simply stupid and backward that we have people dying of preventable issues, people who are hungry, and homelessness.

Oh, how much money? Well, you know we have a larger economy than China, right? We produced about $29 trillion in 2024. China produced $18 trillion. We’re #1, they’re #2.

The kicker here is we have 350 million people. They have 1.7 billion people.

That’s $82,000 for every person in this nation and $11,000 for each person in China.

We should have Cadillac services from our government.
