Yes, both Party’s Have Committed Crimes. No, They Are Absolutely not at the Same Level

The main issue, as I see it, is the Republican Party has been attacking every democrat they can, finding any chink in the armor, no matter how tiny, for decades.

The democrats have stayed on the high road, for the most part.

The problem with taking the low road is that at some point you start to believe the lies you tell, and when you believe the lies, you start to think those you are lying about are getting away with it. Even though the transgressions are fiction you made up.

But, your brain no longer knows the difference. So, the logic goes, if they can get away with it, you can too. It works, for a while. But as the tales grow taller, you start doing more serious stuff.

Then you get caught. But, but, but, THEY DID IT TOO!

The republicans have a laundry list of criminal activity that gets dismissed by the rank and file republicans with a wave and the comment, “Hillary’s Emails.” They believe the lies and they believe republicans should get away with their misbehavior as well

The democrats, have some transgressions , but nothing that, so far, rises to the level the republicans have attained. We haven’t seen the Epstein files yet.

The difference between most republicans and most democrats is when a republican commits a violation, the Party always sides with the accused. They will never consider their own could possibly do such a thing. They refuse to consider any sort of penalty.

When a democrat transgresses, the Party will side with the accused while there is doubt. Then, if the investigation starts uncovering damning evidence, you start to hear calls for resignation. As more comes to light, more calls. Eventually the Party has a heart to heart and asks for the accused resignation. I imagine the ask is more of a “You will resign, Don’t let this distraction affect your ability to do your job.” The rank and file want our elected officials to be held accountable regardless of party.

For example George Santo for the republicans, and Bill Clinton for the democrats. There is no question George’s crime was beyond the level of Bill’s. I say they should both pay an appropriate penalty. I’ve had many republicans claim George is innocent, but George is innocent, he shouldn’t be punished. Then they’ll turn it into persecution, saying George is being punished but Bill only got a slap on the wrist, it’s not fair.” Then they accuse the democrats of some new crime worse than the last.

What many have noticed is when the republicans accuse, it’s an admission of guilt.

So much for the former party of Law & Order.
