I suspected this throughout the pandemic. I’m actually surprised there wasn’t a gap prior to vaccine availability. The conservatives tended to eschew masks more than liberals. That could indicate masks were less effective than we thought.

Either way, we will have to see how this gap impacts the 2024 Presidential elections.
