I’ve often said the last honest republican was Dwight Eisenhower.
Let me put a finer point on that fact. Yes. It’s a fact, not an opinion.
Starting with Johnson, because he was president when I was born, ending with Trump because he is the last president to complete a term. Here are the statistics.
Democrats:
Total years in office: 25
Number of indictments: 3
Balanced budget: 1
Budget surpluses: 1
Republicans:
Total years in office: 34
Balanced budget: 0
Budget surpluses: 0
Add to that the economy grows much faster and more sustainably under democratic leadership, democratic policies are much healthier for everyone, and as we can see around the world, liberal policies are better for everyone, why are we still giving republicans the continued opportunity to abuse us on a global scale?
There was a time when it made sense to give the benefit of the doubt. But the GOP has lost their collective mind and can’t lead. They proved that when they elected an orange buffoon who tanked the economy, fumbled a global pandemic, and left an economic time bomb for Joe Biden. Which I might add, he defused and helped us avoid the worst of the post pandemic inflation. Yes, prices are high. Tell the producers and sellers of goods to stop gouging you.
Oh wait, that’s a function of capitalism. The sellers set the prices, and you should just go elsewhere. So sorry. Presidents don’t set prices in a capitalist system.
