I don’t think our flag offends anyone except those we’ve wronged, like the entire country of Nicaragua.

What you are seeing as offense is your interpretation. The USA could be so much better. But we impose our will on other nations.

Just as your rights end where mine begin, our nations rights end where others begin.

We don’t have the right to blow up another nations boats, especially when those boats do not have the capability to get to our nation. In other words, those boats were absolutely zero threat to us, and they were incapable of delivering drugs or anything else to the US. Trump has committed murder on the high seas, an act of war. These are the kinds of acts that earn us derision and hatred. It’s not undeserved.

It would be one thing if it only happened once or twice. But the US has a long history of imposing its will upon other nations, using its own citizens against each other, and creating conditions where we the people, are left in the ditch.

A great example of that is our healthcare system.

As for our benefits, I don’t know what you are talking about. We don’t have benefits. We have wealth transfer systems dressed up to look like social programs. They take our tax money, and it ends up in the hands of wealthy people while we the people go hungry.

Before you tell me to go live elsewhere, I’ve seriously considered it. But I would rather fight to make America better, expanding our safety nets, and building it so that no American ever again goes bankrupt because they got sick.

As for culture, we don’t have a culture. We have some from each of the European and African peoples and nations that have immigrated here. But none of the native peoples of America culture. No, why would we. It the USA had its way, the native peoples that predate the English would be wiped out.

So, all in all, there are good reasons for people to be offended and hate the US, and there really aren’t many benefits to be had. Even if you got every benefit available from the system, you’d still be hungry and cold, because it’s not enough.

But then, that’s the difference between conservatives and liberals.

A liberal will feed 100 people because 10 of them may be food insecure and hungry.

A conservative will not feed 100 people because one of them might not deserve it.

In reality, every human deserves food, water, shelter, healthcare, and childcare. At no out of pocket expense. We’re already paying for it with healthcare that’s 10 times the costs of other modern nations.

But I can see that you’ve bought into the red white and blue Star spangled Uncle Sam image they’ve been pushing. Never mind the destruction and racism, the inequality, the genocide the US has perpetuated on those who aren’t white cis gendered people.
