82 years ago, December 7, 1941, the United States was attacked by a nation that officially no longer exists.
The Empire of Japan, as it was known, attacked Pearl Harbor from aircraft carriers off of the islands of Hawaii. Hawaii was not yet a state. The world was just starting to recover from the Great Depression.
When the United States defeated Japan, the existing government was reformed into a constitutional republic.
History matters. The modern Japan did not attack us. Remember the history. Also remember THAT Japan no longer exists.
